tory and i on superhero day, homecoming week

well, sophomore year is off to a pretty good start...my classes are fun, kinda boring, but that's better than hard. i love this time of year, fall and winter are my favorite:) i'm back in school, my birthday and halloween are coming up, and then of course thanksgiving and christmas, yay! i am so excited for my birthday this year. 16 baby! it's gonna be sooo fun to be 16 and date...as far as driving goes, i still haven't even gotten my permit...i need to get it soon, because i want to have my license in march, because i'll have a car!! (tyler will be leaving on his mission. HOLY CRAP!) then i will be free to go wherever. haha:) only 12 more days!!!!!!!!

lately i've just been chillin, i started piano lessons about a month or 2 ago and i'm lovin it:) i had a recital, which i really didn't like, but i still like playing. i went up to st. george to my cousin's wedding in september, it was bomb:) on weekends i usually hang out with my buddies, go to football games, dances, and what not:) i'm taking a ceramics class in school and i LOVE it. i'll post pictures of my projects later, they are really cool.

so...last weekend i went to mexico with my amigos =)

i kinda figured that it's about time i updated my blog, since it's been over a MONTH! whoops. haha so today i went rock climbing with ash. It was so freakin amazing! I hadn't ever done it before so i was a scaredy cat at first lol. but then i got used to it and i had tons of fun! for some of the time ash and i just hung out in the air and talked...so we had a good time chillin. well i have some crazy things to post in the next couple days so stay tuned =)

ok, so maybe not the "absolute worst thing EVER", but just go with it. ok, so yesterday was great. Until 5th hour. I got into class, and about halfway through the class my phone vibrated. I took it out to check it, so i know i had it there. Well, after school, i was walking out the door, and i reached for my phone in my pocket. and guess what. IT'S GONE. so i retrace my steps, and nothing. back up to the classroom, nothing. went to the office, lost and found, and nothing. so i figure that it fell out of my pocket and some kid in my class picked it up. UUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHh! WHY? and knowing these kids, i am most likely not getting it back. sigh. so i finally went out to the car, by this time i was crying, and so tyler went back in with me and we checked everywhere. again. and, of course, nothing. so i go home, we suspend the account, and my phone is gone. i had it for like 2 months and already it's gone. i can't believe that our world is so bad today that you can't even have a cell phone in your pocket or purse or something without it getting stolen. it makes me extremely angry. now i know this sounds kinda pathetic, i mean, you're probably like, so this is the worst thing EVER?!?!?!? but it's not so much that my phone is gone, i mean that's a big part of it and all, but the fact that kids are stupid and dishonest enough to steal a flippin cell phone. why would you steal a cell phone anyway? they're just gonna cancel the account, and it's not like you can use it. idiots. and right before christmas break and everything, and i just got unlimited texting a week ago, and now it's gone. ugh. anyway, sorry for boring you with my little dilemma. and the kids in my 5th hour are getting a beat down on monday. ha ha just kidding.

SUNS VS. JAZZ

Last night we went to the Suns vs. Jazz game. Now of course I have to be loyal to where i "grew up" so I cheered for the Jazz. At first it seemed like it would be a good close game. Yeah, that didn't last long. We ended up losing 101-124. It bugged me because every time the Jazz would shoot a free throw or whatever, the WHOLE DANG CROWD would boo. It made me kinda mad. We didn't see any other utah fans until after when we were walking out and these guys saw my jersey and they started yelling GO UTAH! so of course we knew they were on our side. But I swear that it was only us, the Petersons, and those guys that were even cheering for utah! grr. Oh well it was fun anyway. I didn't get home til 10 and then didn't go to bed til 11 and i woke up at 4:30 so I'm a bit tired. By the way, sorry, no pic from nerd day, but I do have one from beach day. I'll put it in another post, because that is one other story.

I figured i should probably post something, since it's been a while... Okay, so going to Valley Vista is really starting to bug me! It's all about our mascot, the "monsoon" and it's getting really old. At our football games, the band plays "Smoke on the Water". And homecoming isn't just called homecoming, NO, it's gotta be Stormcoming. Pretty LAME, huh? I like high school and everything, but when your school color is purple, you go to "stormcoming", and the greatest moment of the varsity football games is when they actually score, it gets annoying. Therefore, I'm annoyed. But I can't do anything about it so I just complained about all that for nothing. It probably entertained you, though, you're probably laughing and glad it's not you. Well, be thankful it isn't. ha. Anyway, this week is spirit week. Monday is nerd day. On Tuesday it's a "beach apparel" day, on Wednesday it's sport apparel day (AND MY BIRTHDAY), on Thursday you're supposed to wear bright colors, and on Friday it's Monsoon colors. Nerd day should be pretty amazing. I'm going to do my hair in a side ponytail like Deb on Napoleon Dynamite and I'll have to figure the rest out tonight. It should be pretty fun! I love dressing up and doing things like that.

My 15th birthday is in 15 days! I am so excited! Then it's only one more year till I can date! And drive...WHOO HOO!!!!!!!!!! I just love October. Last Saturday I went to a pirate dance! It was amazing! I went with my friend Joell. I went to Anthem with Ash today and we went shopping at the outlets!!!!! We went to Pacsun and I got a hat and it is very very very cute! Sorry I haven't posted in a while...school has been CRAZY! And then on Friday we left to go up to Flagstaff, then to Page on Saturday, and now today we went to the Grand Canyon. We just stayed the night in Flagstaff, and then in Page we went on a river trip on the Colorado River by the Glen Canyon Dam, and of course we saw the Grand Canyon today. I took a TON of pictures, but I can't put them on until I get home tomorrow, so I'll have pictures and stories of everything then. :^)

I survived my first week of seminary and high school!!! Yay! I am VERY proud of myself. ha ha. I am so excited for tomorrow cuz 1: I get to sleep in, 2: There is a Daddy-Daughter activity tomorrow, and 3: There is a stake YM/YW pool party at the Surprise Aquatic Center!!!! WOOT! I am so excited! So, anyways, more about my first week. It was pretty darn amazing, and nothing really went wrong. I really like seminary. Bro Smith is my teacher, and he's really cool. Today we finished early and we got to play a game. The game was called Giants, Wizards, and Elves (or somethin like that). It's kinda like Rock, Paper, Scissors, but different. But it's really hard to explain, so that's as far as I'm gonna go. It was so fun, and it was wierd playing it at like 6:30 in the morning. I guess that really woke me up... :^) So my week was pretty fun.

I went to freshman orientation today. I was kinda looking forward to it, because they made it sound like it was this fun thing and that you shouldn't miss it. Needless to say, I was disappointed. IT WAS SO BORING! Five hours. Uggh. All we did was sit in the gym for a couple hours, then we went upstairs and played some games. It was kinda dumb. But, anyways, yesterday I went shopping and I got a new dress! It was on sale, so of course I had to get it... It's so cute! It's brown with white polka dots. They're not really polka dots, but it's hard to explain, so you can see it on Sunday. It's spaghetti strap, so I wear a brown shirt under it and it's really cute. so ya.

The water-skiing activity was fabulous! I knee-boarded and wake-boarded, and I must say I was pretty amazing at both. It was my first time wake-boarding, and it was so fun! It was funny tho cuz when I got up and was actually doing it I saw my friend in the water and I yelled "IN YOUR FACE" but then I fell. Ha ha I guess that's what I get. It was wierd cuz usually I don't do scary things like that but I just did it anyways and it was awesome! I had a great time. Everyone in YM/YW is so fun to be around. I love the water-skiing activities cuz we all hang out and goof off. I can't wait until next year!!!!!

Holy Smack! Yesterday was so fun! First Ashley and I went down to our friends' house to see if they could hang out, but we ended up staying there and playing Wii with them. I was so close to winning, but then Preston had to turn off the TV. What a poohead. But technically I still won...oh well. So then we went outside and this kid climbed a light pole (don't ask...) and then Ashley and I had to go back to her house to help get dinner ready cuz like 15 of her cousins and aunts and uncles were coming! So we got dinner ready and all of her family got there. We played basketball and then we ate dinner. Then we just hung out until it got dark and we went to the park and played football. Then after that we played "night games" with the guys and Ashley's cousin Ike. It was so fun! Then, after the guys had to go in, me, Ashley, and Ike went swimming. All of Ashley's cousins were out there and they were playing sharks and minnows. Now, almost all of her cousins are guys, and most of them are over 18. So we're out in the pool at 9:30 playing sharks and minnows in the dark cuz Ashley's pool light burned out. I think that was the most violent game I have ever played!!!!! Since it was dark, I couldn't see where I was going. I ran into the pool wall a couple of times, got my eye poked, and I smacked my chin on someone else's head. I should've known that would happen...it's hard for me to get through any game without some sort of injury. ha ha. So after that game was done I had to go home. I was sooo tired! So yeah, my day was pretty darn amazing.

This picture is for Kelsie...ha ha. (inside joke) So anyways, Kelsie and I went to the dance on Saturday and it was sooooo fun! We danced with TONS of guys(cuuuuuute guys). We were cracking up and having an excellent-e time. Then on Sunday we did a program in Sacrament that was all about camp. I had to speak...and it went pretty well. Then we sang 2 songs as a Young Women, and they were awesome! So it was a pretty darn amazing weekend. :^)

This is my brother Tyler. He is 2 1/2 years older than me and i guess he's pretty darn cool. He is amazing on the guitar! He's fun to go driving with and he is usually the one who takes me places(thanks Ty!). Right now he's in Utah visiting his friend, but he gets back on Friday. I will be glad to have him home-it's weird not having him here! These are a few pics of him:
He got a new polka-dot tie and sunglasses, so of course I had to get pictures. He was telling me how he should've worn that to my promotion and acted like my body guard...ha ha I bet he would have actually scared some kids.

Mmmm... Waffles

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, but, anyways...Today was sooo fun. I went over to the Ives' house and went swimming and just hung out with Kelsie. WE LAUGHED OUR FLIPPIN BUTTS OFF! Of, course, I had to do all the girls' nails (because I'm so professional ha ha), which I totally didn't mind cuz it was a blast! We went swimming and I learned how to dive! (I know, who doesn't know how to dive?!?!?!)ha ha. Well, it was really fun and Kelsie and I might be going to the dance on Saturday... I hope so-it would be so awesome! Now if I can only get some of my other friends to go... I don't get why people don't like the stake dances. They are super fun for me at least. They probably don't like them cuz they aren't as cool as me and they're party poopers! Just kiddin! But, anyways, it was a really fun day today and now I am going to play Monopoly with my family for FHE. YAY! On Saturday I slept in and then spent most of the day re-organizing my room. I got to IM one of my friends that I haven't talked to in like 3 years and it was really good to talk to her(love ya Autumn!). At like 8:00 I decided kind of randomly that I wanted to go to the dance, so I got ready and left at like 8:45. My brother drove me. It was clear the heck out there by Castles and Coasters and the Metrocenter and WE GOT LOST! I finally got to the dance with and hour and a half left. But it was still REALLY fun!

On Thursday we drove part of the way home and stayed overnight at my cousins' house. Then we drove the rest of the way home on Friday. I WAS SO HAPPY TO BE HOME! I think they're called Joshua Trees or something. Anyways, they looked cool. :^)

I'm back home now so I can post some pictures. We left on Saturday and got to St. George late that night. On Sunday we stayed at the hotel and then on Monday me, my mom, and my sister went shopping while my dad and brother saw Live Free or Die Hard. I got some VERY cute things for school! Then later for dinner we ordered pizza. Now there is an amazing pizza place in Utah called Pier 49. We used to always get this one pizza that they make that has canadian bacon and pineapple and they put on alfredo sauce instead of marinara. So we ordered it and when it got there, we started eating the pizza and we realized they put on the wrong sauce. So we set our half-eaten pieces of pizza back in the box and my dad called and ordered a new one. We were kinda hoping that we could give the half-eaten pizza back to the delivery guy just to see what he would say, but they told us just to keep it. I was being dumb so I took a picture. There's also a picture of the sunset while we were driving on Saturday. So pretty! We had a great view of the St. George temple from our hotel room:

I am so excited that I am going home tomorrow. Oh, believe me, I had a great time on this vacation to Utah, I am just excited to get home and sleep in MY OWN BED!!! I went to camp on the 25th, came back on the 29th, left again on the 30th for St. George, UT, and now I finally get to go home tomorrow! I have barely been home for 2 weeks! This summer has gone by soooooo fast! I start school in a little over a month! I'm pretty excited about that though. I went school shopping (No uniforms, Yeah!) and I must say I am very excited to wear everything. And, besides the clothes, I am actually excited for the school part...

St. George for the 4th

Okay, so I got home from camp on Friday, and on Saturday we left to go to St George. I love it here! We are just relaxing and doing whatever and it feels gooooooooood-lol. I love spending time with my family. A lot of the time we end up talking about how when we were little, and it's fun to hear all of the stories of the things we did when we were younger. This is the perfect way to spend July 4th. I can't believe that it's already July! School starts like August 13 and it's coming soon! In a way, I don't want summer to end, but I am really excited for school to start cuz I'm going to be a FRESHMAN!!!!!!! I am so glad to be out of elementary school! I am even excited for early morning seminary(gasp). I don't think I will be feeling that way too much longer tho-lol. Sorry I don't have a picture, they're all on my computer at home and I forgot my usb cable, so I'll post some when I get home.

I am finally back from a week of Girls' Camp. It was so much fun and so nice to get away from everything. Our theme this year was "Daughters of a King" and that we are all princesses. I really liked this theme. It was fun to have a "royal" theme, and it made me realize that I truly am a daughter of a king, my Heavenly Father. I didn't take my digital camera, but I took a disposable one so when I get the pics developed I will try to post them somehow. In the meantime, here is a pic of our camp t-shirt.

Baptisms for the dead

I am so excited this morning! I am going to the temple to do baptisms for the dead. I love doing it-it just gives me such a great feeling to be worthy to go to the temple, and also to be baptized for others who didn't have the chance. I love going with my ward, too. We are all so close, and we have a great time together. We always go out to eat lunch afterwards, and we just laugh and talk and have fun. I am so glad that I can go to the temple and just escape from everything in the world for the couple of hours that I'm there. The spirit is so strong there and it's a great experience for me.

I decided to try crimping my hair the other day...it didn't really work out. I took a picture just for kicks, and i realized how perfect it went with my super messy room. There were clothes all over the floor, my make-up was everywhere, i had pillows and beanbags on the floor, IT WAS A DISASTER! I kinda like this picture-especially since I'm not even ready yet and it was 11:00. That just goes to show how lazy i am during the summer! Why else do you think i love it so much?!?!? :^)

I love my daddy so much. I am a total daddy's girl, and he means the world to me. I am so thankful for him and all that he does for me and my family. Before we moved to AZ from UT, my dad had to move down here to start his new job while we sold our house. We ended up living apart for about 5 months. This was super hard for me, but I'm so glad that we are here now. In Utah, we had a dairy farm. I didn't get to see my dad a whole lot when we had the farm because he was always working on it. But looking back, living apart for 5 months was totally worth being able to see him a lot more now. I made him a card with a picture that i found yesterday. It was taken at my cousin's wedding reception in 2002, almost exactly 5 years ago. I was so excited to dance with him. I LOVE YOU DADDY!

Wow. The past week has been pretty much...fabulous! I got back from Vegas Monday night, and since then I have not stopped! My week included: swimming, a water balloon fight, water kickball, Sonic, ice skating, more swimming, Fantastic Four (it's excellent-e, btw), Lake Pleasant, and chillin, chillin, and more chillin! I did so much this week it's insane! I am very satisfied, however. This week I learned how to knee-board at the lake, and I got a major workout. I walked back and forth between Ashley's house and my house and Fry's about a bajillion times. Needless to say, I'm TIRED. But i feel goooooooood. I had to put a pic on, so here's one of the other day when i took my hair out of a knot bun...pretty interesting. :^) Also, i got my hair cut-3 inches off!!!

Right now I'm in Las Vegas...visiting my cousins! I was so excited to come and just chillax with everyone- whenever we come up here it's like one huge par-tay! Our traditions consist of staying in our pjs all day with no where to go, then staying up late playing cards, and sleeping in who-knows-how-late in the morning. These guys are my absolute closest relatives. We are so super close. When I lived in Utah, i hardly ever got see them, which made us even closer. My cousin Quinn and I(I can't put a pic on right now, i will later) are so close it's crazy. We are so much like brother and sister. We're about a year apart-he's younger, ha ha Quinn-and we have a blast together. He is coming back with us tomorrow and he's going to stay with us for a week!!! I am so freakin excited and i don't let anyone forget it. We have made plans for having "Mario Party Tournaments"(another tradition) and we're going to see the second Fantastic Four with my friends-YAY! This week is going to be insane-the perfect way to kick off an insane summer. I also have some pics of the latest crazy happenings of Ashley and me-Let's just say we got a little bored at Micheals...I can't upload the pics right now, I'll have to wait until i get home, but they'll be here! I absolutely heart lemonade!!! It's my favorite drink, especially for the summer. I am so excited for this summer. We are going to go to Las Vegas to visit relatives, to Utah for my cousin's wedding, and up to St. George for the 4th of July. I am soooooo excited about it. The best thing about summeris that there is no where to really be. School is out, and i can stay out late without worrying about homework, ect. One of my really good friends is moving this summer, so i'm glad we'll be able to hang out during the summer before he moves. One thing we always do together (actually it's me, him, his bro, and my friend Ash) is night games. We just basically hang out and have the best time ever! During the school year, we can only do that on weekends, but during the summer we can hang out a lot more. It's great cuz that's when i have the most fun is when it's the 4 of us.

I am totally packed this week! I have a math project due, a bunch of other school assignments, I have to clean the house , and on top of that, I have to write a speech for my 8th grade graduation. Yeah, that's right, speech. It shouldn't be that big of a deal, only about 3 minutes long, but I'm stumped. I'm supposed to be speaking on "our futures". I have to have it pretty much done by Friday. Usually I can come up with stuff for a church talk or something, but this is harder for me... I guess I'll see how it goes. One thing I am excited for, besides the weekend, is the end of the school year. Only 10 more days!!!!!!!! YAY! Summer is going to be EXCELLENT-E! I'm looking forward to just chillin with my friends, staying up late, and sleeping in!!! Only a few more weeks and I'm done!

Oh my heck! Tonight was so fun! My friend Ash and I played dress-up. Yeah, I know, totally old school. So we dressed up in all of these crazy outfits and did photo shoots. I did a Britney Spears look(except i had hair, and i was a LOT more modest), a school girl, Deb from Napoleon Dynamite, and a cook. Ashley did a bunch of crazy outfits, I'll show the pics because it's hard to describe them all. Anyway, we were taking pictures and my camera died and we didn't have any more batteries. I got dressed to go to the store, but Ash just stayed in her outfit. So we ended up going to the store, her dressed like a dancer chick or whatever. We got the batteries, paid for them, and headed for the door. Well, as soon as we are walking out the door, the beeping alarm thing goes off. So we go to the person who's standing there and he goes off to fix the problem. Ashley and I are left standing there right by the entrance of the store, and, of course, the next person who walks in is someone from our church. WHAT A NIGHT! I am so ready for the weekend. This week has gone by soooooooo slow. I am ready to chillax with my homies-jk-and just have some fun! I don't have anything really big planned, just gonna hang out. I am also so excited for the end of the school year! I only have a few weeks left, then i'm done!!! It's getting to be that crazy time of the school year when your teachers are trying to cram in all of this stuff before you leave, but you can still tell that they are super anxious for it to be over too. Today we got to dunk our teachers in a dunk tank that our school rented. I got to dunk one of my favorite teachers-so worth it!!!

i realized today how important my friends and family are in my life. I don't know what i would do without them. Every day at school i see my friends and i just have fun hanging out with them, beng myself. I know a family who just had their mom pass away. This family has a 9 year old son. I can't imagine how hard it would be for me to lose my mom. My mom and i were talking about it just a few minutes ago. Her mom died when she was 17 or 18. I just can't describe the feeling that i got. I really don't know what i would do without her or my dad, brother, sister, or my friends. They keep me on track and i am so grateful for them.

Tonight was so fun and crazy! Me and a bunch of my friends went on this video scavenger hunt. We had to go to the store and do all of these insane things like sing songs, dance, and ask strangers random questions. I laughed so hard at everything we did. Afterwards we watched the video we made of it, and we were cracking up! I just love doing spontaneous things like that.
